Costa brava getaway

Cala sa boadella

Costa brava getaway: In this month of July we have discovered a very touristic city in the Spanish Costa Brava, Lloret del Mar.

When I was in college I never went here even if Lloret wasn’t so far from Barcelona.

Then we never took the time to stop here and visit a little bit. I thought it was too much crowd and finally never been much interested about this place.

And one day just like that I was looking for the most beautiful beaches of the Costa Brava, and there was Lloret de mar, on the top of the list.

Costa brava getaway

It’s a beautiful spot far away from the crowd after a 5min of hiking with beautiful views.

The beach is naturedly separated in two parts, the second one is nudist.

You also have a restaurant and public toilet perfectly maintained.

We’ll definitely come back to visit more!

How to edit your photos with free apps

How to edit your photos with free apps: If you are on Instagram you have probably seen all the creative posts of photographers and creatives. Movements like the Weekend Hashtag Projet make me want to work on my creativity and learn some editing tips.

To make it posible and aspiring to improve the way I edit my posts I use 6 apps:

  • 1 snapseed
  • 2 eraser
  • 3 photolayers
  • 4 unfold
  • 5 layers
  • 6 zoetropic-free

With Snapseed you can edit your pictures (play with light, contrast…crop, or play with double exposure).

Lately I am trying to work on photolayers which is interesting in order to crop an item of a picture and change the background.

My first try was to mix two pictures of our last weekend at the beach. Here you have the final result:

1.Crop the item you want to add to the background (I use eraser and photolayers)

Then edit the background picture (I use Snapseed)

You can even remove all the things that you don’t like on your picture.

Finally, if you want to share the picture on your Instagram stories, “unfold” is the perfect app for that, you can make great collages and also edit texts.

From shirts to skirts

From shirts to skirts:Do you remember my upcycled clothes  series?

I created matching outfits for me and my daughter from recycled clothes, like two skirts from a jean or two dresses from an old long dress.

It’s my own way to practice my sewing skills, and to fight against fabric waste and fast fashion consequences.

This time I found two men skirts, I liked the colours and the stripes, similar to linen striped dresses that we find in summer collections this year.

So I decided to create a summer overalls for the baby and a dress for me.

From shirts to skirts

I made my dress without pattern so I am not very satisfied with the result, but I like the match of the outfits.

Gonna work more on my sewing machine because I have some things in mind!

From shirts to skirts

Hope you liked the from shirts to skirts idea, and that that will inspire you maybe to sew something new.

Basil and seagulls: visit Porto with us

Basil and seagulls: visit Porto with us! The last weekend we had the opportunity to visit Porto and I wanted to share some pictures here. We had some things to celebrate and with nothing planned we decided to fly and visit for the first time (but I hope no last) Portugal with our 1 yo baby.

  • Day 1:

Our flight was delayed so we had less time than planned at our arrival. But it was enough to go on a stroll and enjoyed the Porto beer fest at the Crystal Palace Garden and tasted great local dishes at the restaurant “Don Juan”.

  • Day 2:

Firsts visits, the magnificent “Church of souls”, the neighborhood of “Sant Ildefonso” and a stroll on “Santa Catarina” street.

Then the must see “São Bento” train station and the cathedral: “Se Do Porto”, with a great view of the city from above. Little charming streets took us to the Riveira, and the bridge of “Don Juan”, build by G. Eiffel.

We crossed the bridge (struggling with vertigo) and enjoyed the view of colored houses, artesanal stands and wine cellars. We even took the cable car to the Arabic gardens and walked on the first floor of the bridge.

  • Day 3:

Time for some “franceshinas” (typical dish) and a little tram tour to the “Carmo” neighborhood, and the wonderful church also decorated with white and blue “azulejos”.

We spent the afternoon walking on “Ferdinand wall”, took the tram along the river Duero and enjoying some beach time in front of the ocean.
