Resolutions

First of all: Happy New year to all of you. I really hope your year started great.

Everybody is talking here about new year’s resolutions, goals, deadlines…

I don’t like that, that means lots of pressure for me, I just want to grow and care less about what people could think, love me more and try to focus on positive sides of things.

Of course, I want to keep in my life the zero waste attitude, improving it, and for the first time I applied that under the Christmas tree this year.

When you wrap gifts you can also choose the respectful way, without plastic or tons of paper.

I saw fabric wraps really beautiful, but I don’t have enough leftovers and I didn’t want to buy fabric in purpose.

Some old foulards can work well too.

But I tried the simple way with old newspaper, holding it with rope instead of tape.

I just added a little twig of the Christmas tree and I am pretty proud of the result!

Easy Shampoo bar recipe

Easy shampoo bar recipe: After the summer trip that I shared on my last post, I am going to share a zero waste recipe idea: this time how to make a homemade solid shampoo.

After the summer the hair can be a little dry because the sun and salty/swimming pool water.

I tried my first shampoo bar in order to avoid the plastic in the bathroom, but also to only use natural ingredients, specially for my daughter’s hair.

Regular shampoo might contain harmful ingredients and even geological brands claiming only natural ingredients actually put parfum in their shampoos so I wanted an easy recipe only with safe ingredients, like vegetables oils.

I used there the hair mix ( this one) from @aromazone with castoiroil, Coconut, Amla, Avocado, Olive, Broccoli, Jojoba and Mustard, giving strength, nourishing and repairing natural hair with ease.

I just added the vegetable oils to the soap “melt and pour” (this one). Usually, if you want to make your own shampoo bars, you need to buy sci (sulfates) in specific websites, so I wanted to try if only using the melting pour and the vegetable oil mix the result would be good enough to avoid to buy sulfates.

For my daughter and husband the bars work perfect as their hair is shorter than mine. For me it doesn’t work because my hair is too long and I need more foam.

Optional ingredient: Some drops of tea tree essential oil will prevent head lices (and that’s very interesting if you have kids older than 3yo) or dandruff.

*How-to:

1-You just need to heat 100gr of “melt and pour” mix :

2-Add the coconut oil and the hair mix of vegetable oils (one tablespoon of each)

3-Remove from heat and add some drops of tea tree essential oil and vitamin E (preservative).

And that’s it, put the mixture in molds and wait for it to cool.

No fragrances, no chemical ingredients, #zerotoxic and #zerowaste because you won’t need plastic bottles, shampoo bars are packaging-free and travel-friendly! just healthy ingredients for a healthier life.

Costa azahar Road trip

Costa azahar Road trip : It’s been a long time since my last post! This summer has been a crazy one, Autumn came, suddenly it’s winter again and soon we will say goodbye to another year.

Autumn flew by really fast, and I couldn’t even managed to write something for the blog. So I’m going to resume from summer holidays, and try to share some posts before the end of the year.

I usually do that, a list of things that I want to end before the new year, in order to start it with a little less things on my mind. I’ll make later the new year resolution list with a little more of relativity.

So I am going to share first on this post some pictures and places we could visit on our holidays,we had some work on la Costa azahar on August, and then had some time off just for us,and we tried to enjoy a “kid friendly road trip” to Andalusia.

Road tip steps

Places that we didn’t know yet, Jávea- Alicante-Calpe-Mazarron-Mojacar-Almeria.

The heat wave was so hard that the road trip became a little difficult, but it was worth it and we finally spend some great family moments.

Javea was crowded but we can understand why, the beaches there are beautiful and also you can enjoy some hiking and enjoy great views.

We loved there views from “la cumbre”,the night markets and other towns like Moreira.

Calpe is another beautiful spot, with el peñón de Ifach.

There you can find la muralla roja, the most instagrammable spot in Spain, but you must remember that is a private place and you cannot enter there without permission or a flat rent.

On our way to Alicante we discovered a great unexpected place, some locals told us about the algar falls, of and there is a great place indeed.

Alicante

Algar falls

Fonts d'algar

After few stops we arrived at Mojácar, a special place near to the desert and to the beach too.

White houses, bougainvilleas, and giant cactus, bit the best here was the sunsets on the top of the town.

Mojacar

Mojacar

And finally arrived at Almería,we visited there the city and the tabernas desert, there were filmed much of the cowboy movies.

And then we started the way back, with some steps like Isla plana, Murcia,or Denia, but the rain started all the way long and we couldn’t enjoy the beach, just some time at the swimming pool at least ?

Hopefully the Autumn was gentil and we had a great weather until Christmas time, we’ve just spent a sunny Christmas day, no snow but beautiful anyway.

Hope you liked these locations, and see you soon!

DIY mascara recipe

DIY mascara recipe: I tried to make my own mascara, keep reading to know how!

You know that I am always looking for DIY ideas and handmade recipes: the mascara is the last one that I made and I am pretty happy with the result!

It’s hard to find a vegan, cruelty free and without chemicals mascara, so I decided to make my own one!

If you are located in France you definitely should keep reading and find out hoz I made it, just with 2 ingredients that I bought in www.aroma-zone.com .
