Upcycled blouse

I am so excited to share this upcycled blouse! The idea was on my mind for more than a year now, and I finally take some time to make it, and I am so proud of the result!

I bought that skirt at a flea market, longtime ago, because I loved the embroidered emplacements but finally never wore it…so I decided to use the inner lining to make the collar of the blouse. The rest of the skirt will be for my daughter, as I just need to change the elastic band and it will fit her.

And I made the rest of the blouse from scratch, with a cotton fabric that I already had at home. I used the pattern of https://www.magazine-avantages.fr/,fiche-couture-une-blouse-3-looks,2300140,25748.asp

Flower flatlay inspo

Flower flatlay inspo: You have a beautiful bouquet and the flowers start to wither? Don’t worry, you still can do lots of things with them!

I usually don’t buy bouquets, I sometimes make them with flowers of our garden or wildflowers but what I do love (with both) is give them different purposes. I usually take photos with them, they obviously decor the house, but there are some things that we can also do with flowers

1. Flatlays: flowers are the best props aren’t they? Are Flatlays with flowers are my favorites. Last week I tried to make a peace sign with the first cherries of the season and some flowers

2. self-portraits: same as flatlays, posing with flowers may give you more confidence

3. Baby bath and sensory play for kids: they love flowers and it’s perfect for fine motor skills and nature learning

4. Ice lantern. You can freeze the flowers and save them for later activities or make a beautiful ice candle with them

5. Dry them!they are beautiful like this as well, and you can make book marquees, frames ,cards etc

Which one is your favorite?

Peace!

It’s not the first time I share something like this, maybe you remember our star wars hairstyles or our tribute to F.r.i.e.n.d.s. and the sock bunny:

It’s all about creativity and photography here so I hope you’ll enjoy more coming photos like these !xx Sara

Flowers collage activity

Flowers collage activity for kids: a new printable for you! We have been busy collecting flowers lately, and I thought that we totally should use these petals for one of our homeschooling activities, so we tried our own version of “face the foliage” . I drew a face and we fill the top with petals, both girls loved it (4 and 2 yo) so I decided to share a free printable (scroll down to download).

One thing led to another and we also used old magazines, this way we added the scissors to the activity and we did three different monochromatic characters (sorting colors) it’s great for scissor skills practice and they enjoyed a lot with their creations. I also suddenly remembered that I used to love that kind of collages and I need to create more of them (outside homeschooling?)

We also used some scraps to create funny faces and more collages like these ones:

Wisteria photography

Wisteria hysteria photography: Already missing these wisteria flowers. The wisteria season is already over here ,they are full of green leaves and maybe some more flowers will grow during next weeks, even if it won’t be the same! I took some photos that I wanted to share here. In the meantime I’ll be looking for the next blooms!

I also could take a portrait for my Instagram seasonal photos with the purple jumper that I bought second hand. You know that I love thrifting and I created the hashtag #normalisingthriftedclothes on insta, so that was the perfect occasion to document both together, the flowers and the jumper: do you like it?

Creative photography

Hope you enjoyed this mini gallery, I couldn’t resist to share these blossoms! Sara xoxo

Mother’s day craft for kids

Mother’s day craft for kids: “Motherhood is amazing. And then is really hard. And then it’s incredible. And then it’s everything in between. So hold on into the good, breath through the bad, and welcome the wildest and most wonderful ride if your life”

A lot of countries are celebrating motherhood during the month of May. In Spain we celebrated it the first Sunday of May. France will celebrate it the last Sunday and lots of countries are celebrating today. As a Spanish living in France I celebrate both ? not big celebrations, just another excuse to craft something cute and maybe cook something nice!

This year we decided to make a fun activity with some sticks. The girls love them and we already had a nice collection at home so we just needed to cut them and glued them creating the word “mom”. Then I made holes to fill them with flowers,it’s a perfect activity for fine motor skills and we can reuse it, no waste with that craft!

You can choose another word for other crafts or even create your own DIY abc, peef for toddlers learning letters!

Do you like it? Hope you enjoyed that mother’s day craft for kids, tell me how do you usually celebrate this day!!xx And happy mother’s day!??
