Welcome August! Another month another list of seasonal fruits and veggies : apples, apricots, blueberries, cantaloupe, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, figs, green beans, kiwi, lettuce, mangoes,peaches, peppers, plums, raspberries, strawberries, summer squash, swiss chard, tomatoes, watermelon and zucchini! Have a great month!

A tasty month for sure! Nature is amazing and during the hot summer months it gave to us aliments full of water, we should enjoy them better!

Sunflower fields

Sunflower fields: summer is here and these fields are now slowly being reaped but last week I could take some pictures, always with the nikon d5200 but this time with the 18-200 lens.

Handmade matching outfits

Handmade matching outfits: Fighting against fast fashion means that you have other possibilities, you’ll just change your habits and it can be really easy, and funnier than normal shopping.

1. Buy thrifted and use second hand (hand-me-downs are so useful too) .

2. Wear what you already have.

3. Buy sustainable brands/materials

4. Made your own clothes, why not? Upcycling can be easy and most of the times you don’t need a sewing machine to customise your old clothes, Pinterest is a great source of inspiration.

Today I wanted to share our sustainable outfits, made by me. I brought this fabric two years ago and finally decided to use it making one skirt for me, and dresses for the girls. And my t-shirt is thrifted!

Family matching outfits

Family matching outfits: just another one sharing our matching outfits. I had fabric enough to make three items, so one skirt for me ( here ) and two dresses for the girls.

1. Girl dress. It’s another easy and free pattern from www.ohmotherminediy.com this one

2. Baby onesie that one really easy pattern, cute and comfy !

And that’s how we match at home? When I found a cute fabric I try to buy 2m which usually allows me to sew a skirt or a blouse for me and skirts or dresses for the girls.

Handmade skirt: I finally sew something for me! Not upcycled this time, I just used a fabric that I bought longtime ago, so I thought a skirt would be nice!

As usual I’ve found the pattern at www.ohmotherminediy.com : I loved the ruffled and asymmetrical style.

Poppy fields

Poppy fields photography: I’ve found some pictures that I took a few weeks ago, and I thought that I should share them here, as everyone loved the latest nature pictures that I shared and poppies are so pretty, I needed to edit and post it! So here it goes, hope you’ll like it!

Poppy fields are so special, it’s like to find a magic secret spot. Each year they are located in different spots. So sometimes it’s hard to find them. I usually look for them nearby wheat fields, or wine yards, if you don’t find a whole meadow full of them you’ll definitely find some of them and it’s really beautiful as well. Just be sure you stay in the path and don’t harm any private property.

For these photos I used a Nikon d5200 and my 50 mm lens,which create beautiful depth and bokeh. I just struggled with direct and hard light but I try to work and practice that kind of lighting.

I also like to play with focus and really enjoy out of focus photos.

Thrifted tshirts

Thrifted tshirts: A rare picture of us together without the kids ? (they weren’t far away anyway lol) I bought those #thriftedshirts at @vinted, I was looking for a father’s day gift and I found that! Like new, ecological coton, so soft and loved the #momofwo and #dadoftwo prints?.

Fighting fast fashion is not only about to protect the environment, is also about human rights and at @slowfashionseason we are also working on our commitment to anti-racism work within the campaign because “we can’t have a sustainable fashion revolution until the industry is actively anti-racist”
