Babies aren’t born bad or racist. These are learnt behaviours. If we start with our kids and built our generation to recognise their own gifts and that we all have beautiful gifts to share. Life isn’t a competition, we are all on out own journey.

DIY customized bracelets

DIY customized bracelets: June has finally arrived! Here in France we are going to celebrate mother’s day next Sunday, and it’s the perfect occasion to offer a #diy gift or spent some time crafting with your daughter. That’s the reason why I thought that those bracelets would be the perfect present.

You just need some pearls, thick thread (like stranded cotton) , cardboard and a needle threader.

Then follow the pattern of a morse coded word. I chose “mother” and “daughter” but also made others for “friends/sisters” or you can choose words like “freedom” “wild” “love” etc

this is also perfect for thank you gifts for teachers at the end of the school year!

Just check the word of your choice on https://morsecode.world and it will translate it for you.

I just tried then to create something nice like a gift card, adding the DIY customized bracelets into the cardboard :

Hope you like the result of these DIY customized bracelets Xx

Poppy seeds tea

?The calm of poppy fields?

We have been finding lots of Poppy fields lately so we have been studying a bit this beautiful flower!

Poppy seeds are linked to multiple health benefits :
Prevention of heart disease, Iron and phosphorus  for maintaining bones and muscles, calcium and magnesium for brain health… and they can also treat sleeplessness.

Consuming a poppy seed drink (with moderation) can decrease the levels of cortisol in the body. This leads to a calming effect as the stress levels eventually drop. This way, the circadian rhythms improve and we can feel felt less fatigued.

1. Poppy Seed Tea recipe:
Soak 300gr of seeds on 400ml of warm water, let the mixture sit 15 min, shake and repeat about 1hour. Drain the liquid.
Add the lemon juice directly into the jar. Mix, and pour a cup of tea.  Enjoy!

French Poppy fields

We love to go there and just enjoy the beauty of these flowers, the girls love it too but don’t worry,we are always gentle with wildflowers,we don’t walk in (these fields are full of flowers but you can easily walk in without destroy them!

But I am not going to lie,we do pick just a few and dry then or play with their steams and petals.

Have you ever played to make stamps with them?they have a beautiful”star” inside that you can use as a natural stamp. We also used to make tattoos with them as kids?

Hope you liked these photos, you can find more of them on my Instagram @scraps.and.coffee.grounds

Thanks for following!

Reusable nappies

Reusable nappies are ecofriendly, chemical or dye free, and cheaper in the long run.

Even so, we still use some disposable ones, at night for exemple (but we want to change that!)

?Also, did you know that it’s thought that toddlers using disposable nappies are harder to potty train as they can’t feel the wetness?

?We use “all in one ” with an insert, they dry faster and are so easy to use. ?We also add a flushable nappy liner (biodegradable)

?I wouldn’t recommend reusable nappies with velcro because they will attache to other clothes in the washing machine and probably damaged them… Better choose the ones with snaps

?And I just read that “while decomposing, the poo inside the nappy lets off methane gas that could contribute to greenhouse gases contributing to global warming” .

Never though about that before?

Infused herbal honey

Infused herbal honey recipe: Put the spring into a jar and make your own infused herbal honey?

I just discovered that I can make my own infused herbal honey, with dried spices and organic herbs with a “no heat method” or fresh herbs with the “heated method” .

Lilac infused herbal honey

so ro make your own infused honey you can rey two methods:

?Heated method : Heat slowly fresh herbs, like lilacs petals, and honey, stir to fold herbs into honey. When the honey begins to bubble  remove, let cool. Repeat 4 times and 2days, then strain.

?No heat method: Place spices and dry herbs in the bottom of a jar and fill the jar with honey. Let the herbs infuse for at least 5 days. Then Strain the honey into a clean jar.
So easy!

I chose the no heat method because obviously,it’s easier, but also because you just need to choose organic herbs for it.

This time I used lilac flowers: I just love its scent and we have our own brush so I know it’s safe to use it

I also used a recycled glass container and put the dried lilac flowers and dried lavender in it, added the honey and let infuse for 5 days. Then I strain it. And that’s it ,so easy!

Would you try this infused herbal honey methods? It’s perfect for cold season!
