I ask some friends to not throw the wine bottle stoppers and I customize them into little angels.
Se pueden encontrar muchos proyectos “Do it yourself” para decorar el árbol de Navidad, yo escogí reciclar retales de yate, tapones de corcho, piñas ,o incluso hacer yo misma decoraciones con un poco de fieltro. Pedí a algunos amigos que no tiraran los tapones de corcho de las botellas de vino y las transformé en pequeños ángeles.
On peut trouver énormément de projets”do it yourself” pour décorer le sapin de Noël,j’ai choisi de recycler des chutes de tissu de toile de jute,bouchons en liège,pommes de pin, ou même faire moi même quelques décorations avec un peu de feutrine. J’ai demandé à des amis de ne pas jeter les bouchons en liège des bouteilles de vin et je les ai transformés dans des petits anges.

Looking for the Antartyde: visiting Santorini. There is a legend who tells that a beautiful rocher in the island of ibiza, named Es Vedrá, is a vestige of the Antartyde.
There are magical sunsets on the beach of cala d’hort, with Es Vedrá on view, and that was the place that we leaved before land to Greece. After the Athenian scale, we finally arrived at Santorini, the “wine island” and there is also the belief that the island is the response to the mystery of the Antartyde. There are no words to describe this magnificent place. Peaceful white streets in front of a deep blue sea, the stunning caldera’s view and those breathtaking hills.
Hay una leyenda que dice que un islote en la isla de ibiza,llamado es vedrá, sería una parte de los restos de la Antártida. Los atardeceres en la playa donde se admira es vedrá,cala d’hort,son mágicos,fueron esos los que dejábamos atrás antes de aterrizar en Grecia. Después de la escala ateniense, llegamos al fin a Santorini, la “isla del vino”, donde existe también la creencia de que la isla sería la respuesta al misterio de la Antártida. No hay palabras para describir este magnífico lugar. Pacíficas calles blancas frente a un profundo mar azul,la impresionante vista de la caldera y esos acantilados que cortan la respiración.

We loved the Skaros rock, with more views of the caldera and Santorini’s hills. Skaros is the remains of a Venetian Castle built in 1207 by Marco Sanudo. Today you can access from Imerovigli, in an short stroll with some easy hiking.
Nos encantó la roca skaros,con más vistas a la caldera y a los acantilados de santorini. Skaros fue una fortaleza medieval creada por Marco Sanudo con yacimiento católico. Hoy se puede acceder desde imerovigli, con una pequeña y fácil caminata.

We stayed at the Economy hotel with a great view of the mount Licabeto, it was a great location near to the most importants attractions of the city. That let us discover the Athens avenue, with all kind of shops, and we could walk into the Central market, an interesting meat and fish market.
No far from here there is the Ermeo street, for shopping lovers.
Nos alojamos en el Economy Hotel con una increíble vista al monte Licabeto y cerca del ayuntamiento; fue una muy buena localización cercana a la mayoría de atracciones de la ciudad. Nos permitió descubrir la avenida de Atenas,con toda clase de tiendas, y pudimos visitar el central market, un interesante mercado de carne y pescado. No lejos de ahí se encuentra calle Ermeo, para los amantes del shopping.
Nous avons séjourné à l’Economy hotel avec son incroyable vue sur la colline Lycabette près de l’hôtel de Ville ; une très bonne localisation proche à la plupart d’attractions de la ville. Cela nous a permis de découvrir l’avenue Athènes,avec toute sorte des magasins, et nous avons pu visiter les halles, un intéressant marché de viande et poisson. Non loin de là se trouve la rue Ermeo, pour les amoureux de shopping.

Some places that you must see:
Anafiotika: a white Oasis in the big city. A lovely tiny neighborhood in the skirt of the Acropolis hill. Little streets, restaurants, terraces admiring the Pantheon…a throwback of what we’ve just leaved also walking between the bougainvilleas in Ibiza and like a little sample of what we were going to find in Santorini with the cubic white houses. A charming stroll with all kind of magical corners delicately decorated to discover in the way of the Acropolis.
–Anafiotika: un oasis blanco en la gran ciudad. Un encantador pequeño barrio en las faldas del monte del Acrópolis. Pequeñas calles, restaurantes, terrazas admirando el Panthéon. Recordando lo que dejábamos detrás caminando también entre buganvillas en Ibiza y como una pequeña muestra de lo que íbamos a encontrar en Santorini con esas casas cúbicas. Un encantador paseo lleno de mágicos rincones delicadamente decorados para descubrir en el camino al Acrópolis.
– Anafiotika: un oasis blanc dans la grande ville. Un charmant petit quartier dans les jupes de la colline de l’Acropole. Petites ruelles,restaurants, terraces qui admirent le Parthénon. Comme un rappel de ce qu’on venait de laisser derrière nous à Ibiza en marchant également entre les bougainvilliers et comme un échantillon de ce que nous allions trouver à Santorin avec toutes ces maisons cubiques. Une agréable balade remplie des recoins magiques délicatement décorés à découvrir sur le chemin de l’Acropole.

-Anafiotika: a white Oasis in the big city. A lovely tiny neighborhood in the skirt of the Acropolis hill. Little streets, restaurants, terraces admiring the Pantheon…a throwback of what we’ve just leaved also walking between the bougainvilleas in Ibiza and like a little sample of what we were going to find in Santorini with the cubic white houses. A charming stroll with all kind of magical corners delicately decorated to discover in the way of the Acropolis.
–Anafiotika: un oasis blanco en la gran ciudad. Un encantador pequeño barrio en las faldas del monte del Acrópolis. Pequeñas calles, restaurantes, terrazas admirando el Panthéon. Recordando lo que dejábamos detrás caminando también entre buganvillas en Ibiza y como una pequeña muestra de lo que íbamos a encontrar en Santorini con esas casas cúbicas. Un encantador paseo lleno de mágicos rincones delicadamente decorados para descubrir en el camino al Acrópolis.

Une agréable balade remplie des recoins magiques délicatement décorés à découvrir sur le chemin de l’Acropole.

Our wedding was a small ceremony with only close family and friends. Ibiza is a family destination for us and some places there are really close to our hearts. Remember our upcycled decorations? And local brand for the dress or handmade accessories.
I brought my wedding dress to my honeymoon so we could take some photos there. A kind of crash the dress photo session.
My favorite memory from that travel was our evening walk in Oia in our wedding outfits! And the sunsets there were amazing!

DIY wedding ideas: After the aurora borealis’ magic, another different kind of travel started for us. A wedding, the live journey, and a beautiful day, surrounded by the best family in a dreamful place. A white day in the white island.
And a lot of “do it yourself” in mind. Because it is unique, eco-friendly, we wanted to offer something that represents us, made with love; love for those who support us, and love for the planet who welcomes us with recycled and environment respectful gifts and decorations.
Handmade lavender soap, recycled bottles, lace bracelets and headbands, a vintage ambiance, local salt from the white island, peniculata small bouquets …
My mother’s magic hands gave us the best flowers, crocheted white beautiful blooms. She also created buttonholes and bouquets (bridal bouquet, bridesmaids, groom, best man and bride’s father) and even the flowers decorating my hair in a lovely harmony with the bride dress.
The sunset, the sea, lavender, music, laughs and tears of joy,and most of all, love.
That’s the start of another kind of journey, creating a family and changing our lifestyles for the better. That DIY wedding is a good debout to introduce you to my paradoxal world full of recycled items and other handmade creations through the lenses of my camera. Hope you will enjoy it!

Looking for green lights in Tromso: That was our goal, to watch the aurora borealis and make this dream come true.
We rented a car, checked the weathercast and went to the place with the clearest sky.

Sturgata:
A stroll at Sturgata enjoying the warmed sidewalks looking for places like the Venfensteatret Cinema (the older one in Europe), the brasserie Mack to taste the Artic Beer, the Protestant Church, museums, theaters, restaurants…
We ate at Fiskecompaniet restaurant, a great place to taste local dishes like the royal crab or the farikal (mouton and cabbage)
We also chose to make a jump to the Lyngenalpen, so booked one night at the Lyngen Lodge. This is another great place to expect to see the northern lights. This little road trip offers you wonderful landscapes, the town is idyllic and the owners of the lodge are great. They cook local dishes and organise going outs to watch the northern lights, and if you bring your own car they give you great advices.
The northern lights road takes you to Finland, in a great way to discover the “green ladies” and two of the Scandinavian countries.
I love the Japanese belief that a child conceived underneath the northern lights will be blessed with good looks.
Another belief from Sámi people was that the lights were created from the spume of water ejected from whales.
In Sweden, the Aurora was seen as a portent of good news.
Our own experience :
The weather wasn’t the best to watch them and we only stayed five nights, but we finally found some green ladies, and admired the show of their dancing, and these were absolutely magical moments.
One of these green ladies brought us good news indeed. That was the way that my husband choose to propose and that’s the way we started the adventure of marriage, another great journey to discover. If you’re ant to follow, you’ll know more about us in the coming posts.
