Rainbow handbag

We need rainbows now more than ever right? The symbol of hope is everywhere during this lock down and last week I was looking at my half-moon handbag (you can check the #diyhere ) when suddenly had the idea of this rainbow handbag?

I haven’t any table set mat for that but a lot of fabric offcuts so first I made the “table mat” with two rounds of fabric, then added the bows with some leftovers of laces, and finally added the zip (bending the fabric in order to have a half-moon shape)

And here is the final result,we can now always have a rainbow with us! Hope you like it! xX

Natural hair

I am often asked if I have a diy recipe for hair colouring: well, I haven’t, but I can share how I treat my hair and cover white hairs,(because I have a lot of them?) with a 100%natural colour. .
In order to avoid chemicals like PPD and looking for a biodegradable product I chose hena, and especially the one that
@aromazone_officiel propose, 100%natural, without additives, and mineral salts free (always check that if you want to use hena)
It perfectly fits my natural hair color and works as a fortifying hair mask. ?
The hardest part is trying to explain all that to my daughter, who doesn’t like the way I look with the mask and ask me every minute if I can already take it off?

Geography activity idea for kids

Geography activity idea for kids: Today I want to share this fun activity for kids. It’s montessori inspired and now that we can’t travel it has more sense than ever, we can still playing around the earth and learning a lot of things about the planet, from geography to biology. And I thought that would be great after celebrating the “earth day”, last Wednesday.

When my daughter was two years old we have started those activities, as we kept travelling together when she was a baby, she has always been interested, so we thought we could start some activities around the map.

Then, later this year and right after the lock down situation we found that carpet, which we love, and we have different games with it.

The first one is learn about the origin of animals with our set of animals, we can make funny stories with them and work on names of countries, continents etc

We also printed some of most popular monuments of the world and pictures of animals, the activity can be played in different ways depending on your choices of themes, so let’s the fun start!

Today I want to share this fun activity for kids. Upcycled baby dress

?Upcycled baby dress! ?

So excited to keep going with these projects, sounds silly but it means that I am organised enough to manage some time to sew and also rethink my garde-robe.

That thrifted dress was too big for me, I bough it because I loved the print and the fabric, so soft, but finally at home I’ve tried and it didn’t fit me. What could I do?

1. Forget it on the closet, cluttering space

2.sell it on vinted(after the lock down)

3. Upcycle it! And making three matching outfits for the girls and I.

And it was the perfect birthday outfit for us at our #stayathome birthday party. I use the top for the baby dress and the bottom of the skirt for the girl’s skirt, easy!

With the belt we both have hair ribbons

And the collar of the dress comes from a shep (we didn’t bought the right size so it’s totally a zero waste project )

A refashioned item is the best way for me to participate in the fashion revolution week, fighting against the fast fashion industry. Hope you like it! Xx

Spring outfits

Today is the national children’s day in Spain. And thinking about all the children locked at Home this day has nowadays more sens than ever. They are also one of all the good reasons why I keep going with my upcycled clothes, a slow waste lifestyle and raising awareness of slow fashion, because they deserve a healthy planet.

DIY bunny outfits

DIY bunny outfits: Happy Easter! Today I just want to show you these bunny inspired outfits that I made last week, with two bonnets made from scraps?.

To make these bonnets, I just needed to add the ears to the regular bonnet pattern, super cute and easy. And it’s #zerowaste because I used fabric offcuts. You can find here the free pattern that I created!

?Now more than ever because of lockdown I’ll take advantage of every inch of fabric and totally going for more upcycled projects, if I manage to have at least daily 15min with my sewing machine ?
I hope you’ll spent a lovely day tomorrow, maybe chasing some chocolate ?.

I also had fabric enough to sew them matching dresses too, and I decided to create a skirt with ruffled suspenders.

Happy Easter!

I just want to show you those bunny inspired outfits that I made last week, with two eary bonnets?

To make those bonnets, I just needed to add the ears to the bonnet pattern,super cute and easy. And it’s #zerowaste because I used fabric offcuts.
