DIY Summer dresses

DIY summer dresses: Happy solstice! Summer is here, the sun said “hi!” and we could wear our favourite summer dresses last weekend. I upcycled this one from a woman dress (that I already used for a bonnet, this one ) and made a girl dress like the one that I made for my baby’s first birthday ( this one )

When I made the bonnet I just used a part of the bottom of the dress, so this time I just needed to resize the top of the dress for a 4 yo girl dress. Made the ruffled with another recycled fabric and finished the pattern.

I love the collar and the back of that pattern, and it’s perfect for beginners, the harder part is to sew the biais but all the rest is really easy and the result is cacthy. Hope you like it as much as I do! Xx

Summer dresses

Upcycling a tunique into two dresses

Upcycling a tunique into two dresses: From a tunique to a girl skirt and a baby dress, that’s the new refashioned project that I have prepared and going to share today!

It’s another easy one because I just cut the bottom and made the girl skirt. Then made the baby dress with the top of the tunique.

For the baby dress I just adjusted the fabric to turn it into a halter dress and used the rope belt as a brace.

For the skirt just needed to rearrange the seams and add the elastic.

And that’s it, matching outfits for the girls. Hope you like it! Xx

It was a nice fabric for summer that I didn’t want to let go, loved the print too, so I am happy that I could reused it and also creating matching outfits for the girls!

Upcycled girls dresses

From a tunique to a girl skirt and a baby dress, that’s the new refashioned project that I have prepared and going to share today!

It’s another easy one because I just cut the bottom and made the girl skirt. Then made the baby dress with the top of the tunique.

Day world against child labour

To have a real sustainable fashion revolution three sustainable pillars must be priorised: environment, economic and social. I usually talk and focus about the environment pillar but we need to remember that a lot of brands aren’t respecting the human rights. A lot of brands are unethical and they aren’t inclusive of all genders and bodies. They aren’t anti-racist yet and they also still working with children. Today is the “day world against child labour” . And this week we would like to raise awareness about it. 152 million children are working to provide for their families. I just googled which brands are still working with children and the list is sadly so long… .

Reusable baby food pouches for smoothies and yoghurts?Say what!! I didn’t even know that they existed! I was always avoiding that kind of disposable smoothies because it’s more waste,more plastic and well we just don’t bring that kind of snack outside the home,or if we do for picnics or other similar activities,we just use a big bottle and that’s all. But then “twist and shake” reached out and talked about these,I was so excited about that new “gadget” for our walks!

These days we wake up early, we walk 3km and we talk a lot, and we learn a lot. And we also take a break and eat a snack,the girls love that.

With these reusable bags we can bring our smoothies or yogurts everywhere, is sustainable, healthy and #zerowaste.

It’s really easy to clean the bag and use it again and again ??. There are different kind of prints and two sizes. And it has been a great help during car trips too ?
