Homemade clay bar

?Homemade clay bar recipe below?
I’ve just tried this recipe and I thought it could be interesting to share it here,it can be useful if you are running out of soap and you already have at home white clay powder. You’ll just need:
?1cup white clay
?1/4 water
?6drops of essential oil (optional)
Place the clay and essential oil into a glass bowl and slowly pour in approximately 1/4 cup of water. Mix together with a wooden spatula, mashing and blending, until the ingredients are combined. Use your hands if it’s easier.
Mold and let dry (one day is enough)
So far I love it, and it’s #zeowaste so 100%win!

Homemade clay bar

You can use it as soap daily or as a deep cleanser depending on your skin type. But it’s safe and that even for children skin. And even the making process is a fun activity to do with your kids if they want to help. What do you think about? Would you try the homemade clay bar?

Upcycled Gingham shirt

Upcycled gingham shirt

Upcycled gingham shirt: If you follow me for a long time, you already know that I do
I love twining with the girls, and I am addicted to vichy squares, so I needed to do something with this shirt. ?
As we don’t have a lot of time due to the quarantine (yes, some people actually have LESS time now than before? ), I needed something easy. So I just removed the shirt collar (I didn’t like the embroidered roses) and use the sleeves to make the baby bonnet.?
It was a quick and easy project and now I am looking for another shirt to refashion???
What would you like to see next?

Upcycled costumes

Upcycled costumes ! Next week we are going to celebrate #carnival, so before our Italian trip I managed some time to sew two easy costumes for the girls.

Upcycled wizard of oz costumes

The theme I chose was the wizard of oz, because I had faux fur and a Blu gingham dress to upcycle. I thrifted a pair of red velvet shoes for Mrs M. too!

?First of all, I used one maternity dress that I refashioned to make a Dorothy dress for Ms M.

Before and after upcycle
Before and after upcycle

?For the little lion I used a sunbonnet pattern, and recycled the faux fur of a hood that I don’t use anymore. Then I just added the lion’s ears. It’s fun because the lion it’s her favorite animal at the moment ? so that makes a cute memory too!

?And about the dress, I like the fact that you can switch to a “Belle” costume if you add an apron and a book, just change the hairdo and you have it?
what do you think about it?

Upcycling corduroy trousers

Upcycled corduroy trousers

Upcycled corduroy trousers: I am so excited! I finally managed some time to sew a little every day and I’ve just finished another upcycled outfit!

Upcycled corduroy outfits

So I have two pair of corduroy trousers, one flared low waist and the other one is actually a thrifted one, for men, but it was new with tag and I love the cut, is high waist and so comfy; I saved this one for me and the low waist to refashion.

Upcycling corduroy trousers

The overall pattern is really easy, the hardest part is to find all the fabric in just one pants ;), but the flared part of the trousers was perfect for the girls skirts and then I had the exactly amount of fabric for the rest of the overall.

I am proud of these refashioned pieces, fighting against #fastfashion, especially with kids collections (they will only use those clothes a few months, we buy almost each season and the environmental impact is bigger).

Also that’s kinda addictive so I am going to look for more fabric or another piece to upcycle! Hope you liked these upcycled corduroy trousers! See you soon? Xoxo

DIY lip balm recipe

DIY lip balm recipe: Lately I’ve tried different #diy lip balm recipes and I am going to share them in one post today. I’ve already shared some of them before, they have all the same ingredients, with some variations that I hope you’ll enjoy.

? Cacao lip balm

Diy cacao lip balm

Smells delicious! I used again the coconut oil, olive oil, beeswax (1tbsp of each) and a capsule vit E, then I just added a tsp of raw cacao.

Diy cacao lip balm

The high levels of antioxidants protect and repair the skin from damage and premature aging. And as a potent anti-inflammatory, it soothes redness and blemishes, improving the skin’s complexion.

?lemon lipbalm

Lemon lip balm

This time I’ve tried a new ingredient, the rice wax. I wanted a vegan recipe but the result was so compact, I finally added some beeswax to have a smoother recipe.

Lemon lip balm

Ingredients: 1 tbsp beeswax, 1tbsp rice wax, 1tbsp coconut oil, 1tsp olive oil, vit E, and 10 drops of lemon essential oil (without furanocoumarins if you want to use it at day, because it’s a photosensitive oil).

I love the smell and the lemon has a lot of benefits ( stimulating, calming, astringent, detoxifying, antiseptic, disinfectant and anti-fungal…)

The third one is actually a #fail, because it didn’t worked it. I saw on Pinterest so many posts about honey lip balm and I wanted to try. Except that the honey did not bind to the mixture when cooled and remained separated on the bottom.

Next time I’ll use a powder of honey just to be sure !

Hope you liked it!xX
