Chronic illness

My sister is a cystic fibrosis warrior, and my mother suffers from fibromyalgia and polyarthritis. One of the reasons why those are really hard battles is because most of the time they are invisible.
This week  we  have gotten together to create awareness around chronic illnesses.
– A chronic illness is a long term health condition which may not necessarily have a cure.
– Most Chronic illness are invisible but is not imaginary.
– Most chronically ill persons live a very lonely and isolated life as symptoms can be extremely debilitating – some have become bedridden and housebound.
– There are more than twenty different chronic illnesses. The most common among them are Lupus, Fibromyalgia,
Myalgic encephalomyelitis/CFS, EDS, Lyme disease and many more.
– The best one person can do for a chronically ill person is to believe them.

World prematurity day

World prematurity day: “Sometimes’, said Pooh, ‘the littlest things take up the most room in our heart” – A. A. Milne

Today is World Prematurity Day?. Every year, over 15 million babies are born too soon. Of these, over 1 million will never make it home. Prematurity is the number 1 cause of newborn death, and babies who survive an early birth are often left with lifelong health challenges. Parents of these tiny miracles are also 2.5x more likely to suffer from post-natal depression, and many are left with PTSD from the physical and emotional trauma of it all.

To help raise awareness this #WorldPrematurityDay, a group of artists have joined forces with #TogsForPreemies to shine a light on this global issue. Join us, share your story with #purpleforpreemies, or please also consider donating to one of these charities dedicated to helping preemies survive and thrive!

Human-kind

Human-kind: be both! Next Friday we’ll celebrate “World kindness day”, and I couldn’t miss the opportunity to share some love through my pictures.

The year when a pandemic hit us, when we finally started to really look inside our eyes to find our smiles .

Behind our masks.

When real heroes were finally recognised and we couldn’t be more close to each other being isolated.

When people started to dance in social media to forget the pain.

The year when rainbows decorated our windows.

The year when we started to understand that kindness is the key, this is the best year to celebrate it. And sharing those pictures will be my tribute.

When you are kind to others, it not only changes you, it changes the world.

Halloween costume idea!

Halloween costume idea: Postcards from the past… “Ghosts and goblins, spooks galore. Scary witches at your door! Jack-o-lanterns smiling bright are wishing you a haunting night, Happy Halloween!”

?????

Three years in a row now creating a spooky family costume and it’s a fun tradition to do!

We try to find one theme and then look for items that we already have at home to create the different costumes.

For this year’s Halloween costume idea, we recreate one of those vintage postcards, you know the time when people weren’t used to smile in photos and just kept trying to be the most immobile as possible!

My husband already had an old cap and coat and for the girls,w just look for blouses, skirts and dresses. High thighs and bonnets and a Snapseed filter were enough to finish the photo session!

What do you think about that Halloween costume idea? Would you create your own version? If so, you can tag me so I can share it!
